Deliverability and safety
Safety caps, warmup, rotation, self-healing deliverability, bounce handling, dedupe, and the do-not-send list.
Good outreach is safe outreach. GenLink is built to protect your sending reputation and to never contact the wrong person, because a burned domain earns you nothing. This page covers the guardrails, and answers the fair question: is this spammy? It is not, by design.
Safety caps and pacing#
Every agent sends inside firm limits: a per-agent daily send cap (default 20), sends spaced at least 30 minutes apart with jitter, and only inside your workday. This human pacing is deliberate. It keeps volume low enough per mailbox to stay trusted. See workday and limits for the full rules and the list of reasons a send is refused.
Warmup and rotation#
- Warmup. A new domain or mailbox has no reputation, so sending ramps up gradually to build a track record before it carries real volume. This runs in the background and takes time by design.
- Rotation. Across multiple connected mailboxes, sending can rotate so no single mailbox is overloaded. More on domains in domains and mailboxes.
Self-healing deliverability#
GenLink watches sending signals and backs off when they look risky, adjusting pacing to protect your reputation rather than pushing volume through a struggling mailbox. The goal is steady, trusted sending over time, not a burst that lands you in spam.
Bounces#
Bounces are detected structurally, from the delivery status, never by guessing from a subject line.
- Hard bounce (5.x.x): the address is dead. GenLink marks the lead, suppresses the address so it is never contacted again, and bins the bounce notice.
- Soft bounce (4.x.x): a temporary issue. It is logged only, and not suppressed.
Note: a hard-bounced address stays marked as bounced. A hard bounce outranks every earlier stage on a row, so you can see at a glance that the address is dead. GenLink never suppresses one of your own sending mailboxes.
Duplicates and workspace-wide dedupe#
An address is emailed once across your whole workspace. If one agent has already contacted someone, another agent will not pitch them again. This is why a row can be refused for being "already emailed by someone else in this workspace". It stops a prospect from getting two pitches from you by accident.
The do-not-send list#
The do-not-send list is your hard block on outbound. In the app: "Anything in this list is blocked from receiving outbound across every agent in the workspace." Manage it on Settings > Do-not-send.
- Add a single email, an entire domain (like
competitor.com), or upload a CSV. - It is checked at send time, across every agent in the workspace.
- It is also written automatically by bounce handling, so dead addresses land on it without you lifting a finger.
What the agent will never contact#
- Anyone on your do-not-send list or any address on a blocked domain.
- Anyone who unsubscribed or replied not interested. The agent never messages them.
- Any hard-bounced address.
- Anyone already emailed by another agent in the workspace.
Between the caps, warmup, dedupe, and the do-not-send list, GenLink earns links by pitching real, relevant sites at a human pace, which is the opposite of spray-and-pray. For what the agent brings to you versus decides alone, see what the agent asks you.
